The Cosby Mysteries was an American mystery series that aired on NBC in 1994. The Cosby Mysteries marked Bill Cosby's return to television after his success with mega-hit, The Cosby Show .
Cosby requested that writer William Link, who had worked on Columbo and Murder, She Wrote , work for him to create a character-driven mystery that did not contain graphic violence.
In The Cosby Mysteries, Bill Cosby stars as Guy Hanks, a New York City Police Department forensic scientist, who retires after winning the lottery. However, Hanks is frequently called back in as a favor to help solve a case.
