Charles in Charge is a sitcom which starred Scott Baio as Charles, a 19 year old college student who is hired by families as a live-in babysitter in exchange for room and board while attending college . Charles is forced into a major role in the family as he juggles the needs of the household and his responsibilities in college .
The first season had Charles working for the Pembroke family, but when the show went into first run syndication, the family was replaced with the Powells, after it was revealed that the Pembrokes subleased the house to the Powells and moved to Seattle. 126 episodes aired on CBS from October 3, 1984 to April 27, 1987.
