Bosom Buddies was a sitcom consisting of 37 episodes aired on ABC from November 27, 1980 to August 12, 1982 starring a young Tom Hanks before he became a megastar.  Hanks played Kip Wilson who, along with his buddy Henry Desmond, disguise themselves as women to live in the low-rent and female only Susan B. Anthony Hotel , after their apartment building is torn down.  Kip convinces Henry, who is an aspiring writer, that the experience will make a great book, and so the ruse begins.

Originally the show was conceived by writers Thomas Miller and Robert Boyett as a male counterpart to their hit series "Laverne & Shirley".  The two brought in writer-producer Chris Thompson, who had worked on "Laverne & Shirley" to write the pilot.
