Tales of the Unexpected is a long running British television series that focuses on telling stories with an unexpected twist ending. Most of the stories are based on a series of anthologies by Roald Dahl. 

Notable stars appearing in episodes of the program include Brian Blessed, Joan Collins, Joseph Cotten, Cyril Cusack, John Gielgud, Julie Harris, Wendy Hiller, Ian Holm, Michael Hordern, Derek Jacobi, Janet Leigh, Siobhán McKenna, John Mills, Anna Neagle, Elaine Stritch, Andrew Ray, Rod Taylor, and Timothy West.

Dahl also created an almost identical series for American audiences called Way Out.
