Bridget Loves Bernie was a comedy series that aired for one seaon on CBS from September 1972 to March 1973.

Based on the Broadway play from the 1920's, 'Abie's Irish Rose ', the program was about the daily lives of a young married couple, an Irish Catholic woman and a Jewish cab driver.

The program was considered controversial at the time due to the inter-religious marriage, so much so that reportedly CBS canceled the show after only one season due to the amount of hate mail received from the public.
