Dan August was a crime drama television series that only aired for one season from September 23rd, 1970 to April 8th, 1971 on ABC and had a total run of 26 episodes.  The series was based on Quinn Martin's made for TV movie called, "House on Green Apple Road".   The show was not so popular in it's era but when the star of the show , Burt Reynolds, increased his popularity in films in the 1970's re-runs of the show made it more popular. 

The star of the series, Burt Reynolds worked as a police lieutenant who was responsible for investigating homicide cases in California.
