All My Children is a long running soap opera airing on ABC.  Like most American soap operas, the show is aired during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with a mild cliffhanger occurring on Fridays.  Currently the show has been running for 41 years, recording over 10,600 episodes.  It was announced that ABC has decided to cancel All My Children as of April 14th, 2011.  The shows most well known actress, Susan Lucci, confirmed on the daytime talk show "The View" that All My Children's final episode would air on September 23, 2011.

The show focuses on a number of families in the small town of Pine Valley, Pennsylvania, in what is portrayed as a suburb of Philadelphia.  The show 's creator, Agnes Nixon, wrote the show as more light hearted than other soap operas of the time, with a focus on social issues and young love.
