The Mod Squad was a television police drama series that aired on ABC Tuesday nights starting at 7:30 from September 24th 1968 to March 1, 1973. The series ran for a total of five seasons and 124 episodes. Aaron Spelling and Danny Thomas were the executive producers of the show .
The Mod Squad was a bold television series that redefined fashion, hairstyles and language. It featured three young crime fighters, all of different nationalities, one black, one white and one blonde. Pete, a rich man steals a car, Linc was taken to jail at the time of the Watts violent disorder and Julie dealt with her mother who was a prostitute and ran away from her. In order to abstain jail time, they must pervade the young society and uncover the criminals whom hurt other people.
The plots dealt with the three youth fighting crime, who were police officers who used a hippie disguise to get closer to the criminals they investigated. The show was based on a 1950's cop, Bud Ruskin, who had experiences as an undercover narcotics cop.
