The Flying Nun was an American sitcom that aired on ABC and ran for three seasons from September 7, 1967 to April 3, 1970 and a total of 82 episodes filmed in color. The show was based on a book called, “The Fifteenth Pelican” by Tere Rios. It was developed by Bernard Slade and was based around a community of nuns living in a convent in Puerto Rico.
The main character, Sister Bertrille was a native of Chicago and she moved to New York City after she had been allegedly charged with a crime. She had come from an upscale family with good morals, but did not follow the same path. She had a strange ability to be able to fly and she was able to solve any situation that came her way.
