Educational / Kid's Show
Hosted by Fred Rogers
Mister Rogers' Neighborhood was an iconic American children's show aired on NET and PBS starting in 1968. Mister Rogers' Neighborhood was created by its namesake, Fred Rogers. Rogers had been performing on children's shows since 1953, as a puppeteer for the show "The Children's Corner" which also was the origin of many of the puppets that would later appear on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, such as King Friday XIII and Curious X the Owl.
Mister Rogers' Neighborhood became a long running staple, with several generations of children growing up watching Fred Rogers enter his house and proceed to change his sweater and shoes. Mister Rogers would then guide children through various activities, such as taking a tour of a factory or something else educational, before turning to a puppet segment named "The Neighborhood of Make Believe".
