The Munsters was an American family television sitcom that aired in black and white on CBS for a total of two seasons from September 24th, 1964 to May 12th, 1966 and a run of 70 episodes.  The series was often compared to it's rival competitor, " The Addams Family ", although that family was a
more wealthy depiction, the Munsters were more blue collered middle class family.  After ABC's " Batman " the ratings for this show dropped dramatically and was cancelled. 

The plot centered around The Munsters family who considered themselves quite normal in society .  The father's appearance was very similar to the Frankenstein monster. His wife appeared to be a vampire. His son looked like a 'wolf-boy'. There was the niece, however, who was perfectly normal. While they were very nice 'monsters', their neighbors were scared and weary of them and their strange ways.
