Airing from September, 1964 to September, 1970, Daniel Boone ran for six seasons with 165 hour-long episodes on NBC. Although filmed in California and Utah , the setting for the storyline is the 1770’s in Kentucky, and is loosely based on the adventures of the legendary Daniel Boone. Coonskin cap wearing Daniel Boone was played by Fess Parker, with Ed Ames as his Native American friend Mingo, and Albert Salmi (in season one) as Daniel’s sidekick Yadkin.
