The Jetsons is an animated sitcom created by Hanna-Barbera and aired on ABC starting in 1962. The Jetsons is considered to be the space-age equivalent of the Hanna-Barbera hit "The Flintstones". Both shows were basically sitcoms with most everyday items replaced with Stone Age or space age accessories.
The Jetsons takes place 100 years in the future from the time of the shows creation, or 2062. George Jetson lives high in the sky in the Skypad apartment building with his wife Jane, his daughter Judy, son Elroy and his dog Astro. The Jetsons also have a robotic maid named Rosey.
A common theme of the Jetsons is how easy life is in the future, however all the characters constantly complain about how much work they have to do. For example, George works full time, which is considered to be three hours a day, three days a week, at Spacely Sprockets, pushing one button. However he complains regularly about being forced to work overtime.
