Tate is a Civil War veteran who lost part of his left arm during the war. Unable to get a decent job, he becomes a gunfighter. Wandering the West looking for work as a fast gun he presented an imposing figure with his left arm covered in black leather from his fingertips to the elbow.

Home Town (06/08/1960)

First show of the series. For Tate the Civil War is over. With a severely crippled arm he returns to his boyhood home town to try to help a friend.

Stopover (06/15/1960)

Tate is forced into a gunfight and kills the man who is supposed to be the fastest in the territory. Now he must face Will Smith, who wants to be the best.

The Bounty Hunter (06/22/1960)

Tom Sandee is a bounty hunter . He mistakenly thinks Tate is wanted and is going after him.

The Mary Hardin Story (06/29/1960)

A pretty woman asks Tate to help her. A man known as Tetlow is trying to take her property. 

Voices of the Town (07/06/1960)

Tate is trying to capture Frank Turner, his wife tries to kill Tate and he has to shoot her. Now the angry townspeople are out to get revenge on him.

A man named Arriega hires Tate to hunt down a wanted man. Tate is going to bring the man in but Arriega wants the man brought in dead only.

Comanche Scalps (08/10/1960)

Amos Dundee, with Tate going along, is going home to marry his fiance. When they arrive they find that Lucy just married Amos's brother. Amos intends to kill him but Comanches steal her first.

Before Sunup (08/17/1960)

A gang of outlaws shoot up a man badly. Then they make a bet on what time he will die. Tate tries to protect the man before the different outlaws can kill him.

The Gunfighters (08/31/1960)

A ranch owner owes his hands a year's wages. He agrees to pay up in cattle, then reneges. They pay Tate to help them collect.

The Reckoning (08/24/1960)

Tate is chasing a killer named King. Tate becomes sick and the daughter of the man he is chasing ends up taking care of him.

Quiet After the Storm (09/07/1960)

A girl is shot by her jealous boyfriend and a lynch mob is after him. Tate is also looking and finds him first at the boy's father's house. 

Return of Jessica Jackson (09/14/1960)

Indians have taken Milo Jackson's wife Jessica and Milo has offered Tate money to get her back.
