Route 66 was an American television adventure drama series that aired weekly on CBS for four seasons from October 7, 1960 to March 13, 1964 and ran for 116 episodes.
Route 66 revolves around two young men who travel across America and find odd jobs and meet various people who they try to help out. It starred Martin Milner as Tod Stiles and, for two and a half seasons, George Maharis as Buz Murdock. Maharis was ill for much of the third season, during which time Tod was shown traveling on his own. Tod met Lincoln Case, played by Glenn Corbett, late in the third season, and traveled with him until the end of the fourth and final season. The series is remembered by most for it's Chevrolet Corvette convertible and instrumental theme song which later became a major hit. Each week was a completely different story line and different cast. Usually the story line of a particluar episode is centerred around the guest star and not the main character.
