Do You Trust Your Wife? was a game show which aired on CBS from January, 1956 to March, 1957 in half-hour episodes.  Originally hosted by Edgar Bergen, Johnny Carson took over as host in 1957.

The game was for couples to appear and answer four questions, with the husband deciding if he would answer or trust his wife to answer correctly.  Questions answered correctly would earn the couple $100, $200, and $300 consecutively, and for their last question they could bet any of their winnings on one more question.  Whichever couple won the most money during an episode would then go head-to-head with the winners from the previous week’s show in answering questions. Whoever won that final round would be awarded $100 a week for a year, and could return the following week to continue until they were defeated.  The couple who won the most during the run of the show earned a total of $120,800 for their appearances.

When the game’s title was changed in 1957 to Who Do You Trust? to broaden the participant base from only married couples, Johnny Carson would continue as host until 1962.
