Cast: Irene Dunne, Fred MacMurray and Harry Von Zell

Bright Star was also known as The Irene Dunne and Fred MacMurray Show, and was a comedy based on the misadventures of a newspaper editor and her star reporter Irene Dunne played Susan Armstrong, the editor of the Hillsdale Morning Star and Fred MacMurray was the idealistic reporter George Harvey .  Many of the 30 minute episodes resolved around trying to keep the newspaper afloat despite ongoing financial issues.

Irene Dunne was well known in Hollywood for her films in which she co-starred with Cary Grant.  Throughout Dunne's career she was nominated for five Academy Awards, although winning eluded her.  Fred MacMurray went on to star in many Disney movies in the 1960's including "The Shaggy Dog" and "The Absent Minded Professor".
