The Goon Show was a British comedy program, produced by the BBC.  In fine British style, the show mixes ludicrous plots with surreal humor, puns, and a plethora of bizarre sound effects, many created specifically for the show .  And nothing was off-limits to the show ’s writing team, who savagely satirized life in Britain, parodying aspects of commerce, art, politics, the police, the military, education, and film.  With the amazing talents of Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers, and Harry Secombe showcased, The Goon Show had a profound influence on all comedy that followed it, from Monty Python's Flying Circus, to Laugh In, to Saturday Night Live.
