The Halls of Ivy follows the lives of William Hall, and his wife, Victoria.  He is the president of small, Midwestern Ivy College , and she is a former comedy star.  The episodes follow their relationships and adventures with students, friends , and the college board of trustees.

Created by Fibber McGee & Molly writer Don Quinn, the show was soon adapted to become a television comedy, starting in 1954, and featuring the same actors.
