Created and written by Blake Edwards, Richard Diamond was a mystery drama with the occasional comedic twist.  Sarcastic, witty, and sometimes too smart for his own good, Diamond often seems to solve crimes with his tongue firmly in his cheek.  His assistant and sometime girlfriend, Helen, took equal delight in Richard's tough guy act, and in his singing to her once they were safely home from their cases.
