My favorite Husband was based on the 1940's novel "Mr. and Mrs. Cugat" and aired from July 23rd, 1948 to March 31st, 1951. It eventually evolved into the television show " I Love Lucy " starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Lucille Ball refused to work with her costar, Richard Denning, on the television version and only wanted to work with her real-life husband.
Liz and George were a married couple who lived together and enjoyed married life and were always cheerful. They were originally written as an upscale family, but due to the writers trying to gain a wider audience, they changed the script to take place in a more middle class neighborhood with a more middle ground couple.
