Bob Hope’s first successful radio show was The Pepsodent Show which he starred in for ten years. The program featured a monologue and conversations and funny skits with other cast members and his guests.
In 1941, at the urging of the producer, Albert Capstaff, The Pepsodent Show was broadcast from March Air Force Base in Riverside, California for U. S. servicemen, beginning a long career of remote broadcasts. It is reported that during the war years only nine of the program’s episodes were broadcast from their home studio. All the rest were remote broadcasts.
