This film is set during 480 BC, where the Battle of Thermopylae took place between the Greek city-states and Persians. The Greeks are led by King Leonidas who has an army of only 300 men, while the Persian army led by King Xerxes has over 100,000 men. Xerxes waited for 10 days for King Leonidas to surrender, but when that never happened he made a move. The battle lasted for about 3 days, in which all 300 Spartans were killed.
