Reed Richards and Victor Von Voom are college friends who decide to do an experiment during the passing of a comet, yet it leaves Victor with many scars. Sue and Johnny Storm know Reed from their mother having a boarding house in which he stays in. Ben Grimm is a college friend of Reeds. Many years pass by and it is the early 1990s. Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben step into an experimental space ship as the exact same comet passes by Earth again, which results in them being struck by cosmic rays. Reed believes Victor has been dead for many years now and remembers his friend during this time. 

The four quickly find out that they are no longer the same after landing back on Earth. Reed’s body is elastic, Sue can turn invisible, Johnny can create fire at any time, and Ben has become the Thing . Victor turns out to be alive and has his men whom are disguised as Marines take the four scientists to question them about their new special powers and how they acquired them. They end up running away from Victor, but Ben feels abnormal with his new physique and leaves the group to be on his own. Ben teams up with a jewel smuggling group. It turns out Victor is in need of a special diamond connected with the comet’s power. Now Ben does not know what he has gotten himself into and goes back to his group of friends to fight off evil.
