Nick Pulovski is a cop tired of doing nothing productive with his career and is currently working for the auto theft department. Things change for the cop when he learns that a man by the name of Strom is the mastermind behind an important auto theft and sees this case as his big break. He is removed from the case after his partner is killed. The case goes to homicide, but Pulovski is determined to follow Strom. David Ackerman becomes his new partner after becoming detective. He is confused on whether to follow Pulovski on this case, for he is paranoid on a childhood happening and plays it safe.
