Originally airing on the Hallmark Hall of Fame, this made-for-television adaptation of a novel by John William Corrington.  A long overdue Medal of Honor becomes the focal point of a decades-old mystery.  James Garner plays an irritated widower who has lived his life in seclusion.  He is forced out of his quiet life when his Godchild runs into some problems and his old friend, a black farmer denies receiving a Congressional Medal of Honor for bravery in World War II.
