Burt Lancaster is a nasty tabloid publisher who sets out to ruin the comeback of a recovering alchoholic actor portrayed by Robert Urich. Urich is assisted by his movie-star wife well portrayed by Lauren Hutton. Lancaster hires their mutual friend Pamela Reed to assist him in his hatchet wielding. She holds her own against his efforts.
