The film is set during the 1850's where Lincoln Costain is a cowboy with a good heart. He gets captured and is then shipwrecked on an island in Hawaii. There Lincoln encounters a striving widow by the name of Henrietta and helps her turn her potato farm into a cattle ranch. Problems arise for the two when a selfish land owner takes control over Henrietta's mortgage, for he wants the land all to himself. Instead of helping Lincoln return to his home in Texas, he orders Lincoln to stay and assist Henrietta.
This film follows Lincoln Costain, an amiable Texas cowboy in the mid nineteenth century. He gets shanghaied and put on a ship headed for Hawaii, but jumps off on the coast of Kauai. He is saved from drowning by a twelve year old boy. Costain stays with the boy and his mother, a beautiful widow named Henrietta, on their failing potato farm. He works with her to turn the plantation into a cattle ranch. Land baron Bryson almost ruins the farm by holding Henrietta’s mortgage, wanting to keep the land for himself. Costain protects the land for her, and decides to remain in Hawaii instead of returning to his home in Texas. While here he also manages to defend himself from an evil witch doctor, as well as teach the local islanders the ways of the American cowboy .
