A mountain man wants nothing more than to live his life in solitude in the mountains, fending for himself hunting and fishing.  While assisting a search party searching for pioneers he leads an army troop through a sacred Indian burial ground, causing the tribesmen to try to kill him to appease the dead.  He spends his remaining days defending his life against all comers out to make a name for themselves with the tribe.
