To Catch a Spy is a 1971 spy spoof directed by Dick Clement, filmed in Romania and the United Kingdom.

As Fabienne and John Fenton are enjoying their honeymoon in Bucharest, John is arrested by the secret police and taken into custody.  Unknown to Fabienne, John is a Russian spy and he has been arrested so they could contact him.

Fabienne must return to Britain alone, where she enlists the help of her diplomat uncle, Sir Trevor, to try to have John released.  Sir Trevor begins working his contacts, trying to arrange for a swap to have John released if the British will trade a Russian prisoner for him.  Unfortunately, just when the deal is about to be done, the Russian prisoner dies.

Frantic, Fabienne discovers another man, Andrej, who is a Romanian spy and begins to work to offer him in exchange for John.  The situation becomes even more complicated as Fabienne finds herself falling for Andrej.
