The main character, Maria is put in an island prison camp and is given the number 99.   The warden, Thelma Diaz is a lesbian and controls these women prisoners subjecting them to rape, torture and lesbianism.   A new warden, Leonie Caroll takes over the prison and Marie has hopes that things will improve for her, she escapes with two other prisoners but is chased and captured by male prisoners who have not seen women in a long time.
