Taylor and two other astronauts wake up from a deep and long sleep while flying their spaceship to discover their ship has crashed. The three men only have their clothes with them and realize they are on a different planet where men are primitive and apes are the ones civilized. Taylor is apprehended and taken to their headquarters but cannot speak to them since something is wrong with his throat and humans are treated like animals by their captors.
