Lew Harper is a private investigator in Los Angeles going through a divorce with his wife Susan who can no longer tolerate being second best in his life since he is always busy with work. Elaine Sampson is his latest client who is physically disabled and wants him to find her rich husband, Ralph Sampson who has been missing for twenty-four hours. Ralph doesn’t seem to be liked by many people, including his wife who believes he is messing around with other women.
