Mrs. Bransom is an old, cantankerous woman who enlists the help of a pleasant young man Danny to live with her. Mrs. Bransom's niece, Olivia is not convinced by Danny’s good-nature and feels he is up to no good. When a local killing occurs, Olivia suspects Danny, yet she becomes more attracted to him, despite her feelings.
