Tippi Hedren plays a liar and thief named Marnie Edgar who makes it a pattern to work as a secretary and steal money from the firm after a few months. She catches the attention of her new, handsome employer, Mark Rutland. He is aware of her actions and tries to help her become a better person. He has a private eye look into her past and when he finds information on her, Mark invites Marnie’s mother to talk to her daughter and face their past in order to save her.
