A group of ambitious doctors are going through their first years as interns where they experience alterations in their career and personal life. John Paul Otis ruins his chances of ever becoming a doctor when he attempts to steal pills from the hospital after his famous model lover, Lisa Cardigan, becomes pregnant. Lew Worship is the one to expose John, even though he has been friends with him all his life. Lew is determined to become a surgeon and falls in love with Gloria, a student who wants to become a nurse. He tries to convince her to marry him. Intern Alec Considine is determined to work with psychiatrist Dr. Bonny. From here more problems with love and doing the right thing arise.
