Francis Barnard travels to Spain, but quickly finds out that his sister Elizabeth has just passed away. Her husband Nicholas Medina, the son of the toughest persecutor of the Spanish Inquisition, informs him that the cause of her death was a blood disease. Francis does not buy into the reason of her death and starts to do some research. He quickly discovers that unreasonable consternation was what killed her and might have been buried alive . Peculiar happenings begin in the castle.
