Conflicted writer Paul Varjak moves into a New York apartment building where he finds himself fascinated by his attractive, peculiar neighbor Holly Golightly. Holly's behavior perplexes and mesmerizes Paul; in public she is elegant and sexy, but when it is just the two of them, she transforms into a sweet girl full of nerves.

The theme song 'Moon River', sung by Audrey Hepburn, won an Oscar for Best Song on behalf of composer Henry Mancini and lyricist Johnny Mercer.
