Al Woods is a college student whose only interest is partying and girls. He becomes an assistant cook in the Coast Guard after breaking up with his girlfriend, Jo Hill, and not doing well in school in order to not fight in World War II. But things do not go according to plan since he gets into trouble with officer Red Wildoe. Al does not learn from his mistakes and attracts the attention of Wildoe's former fiancée Stella.
