Jeanne is a poor, but beautiful girl who enters a beauty contest, yet does not win the crown.  She is determined to make something out of herself and catches the attention of Sal Satori, the organizer of the contest, who offers her a job as a carnival dancer.  They become very good friends and then fall in love with one another.  Jeanne has no passion for the dancing, but dreams of becoming an actress.  Jeanne ends up getting her big break, but takes the job away from Elsie Desmond, who is older and was trying to get back into the spotlight.
