Arnie Haynes is a rock and roll singer who is considered a hero to his hometown.  Yet, not everyone is a fan of his, including the mayor and other adults who think his music is a bad influence for teenagers and  they prohibit him from singing.  Alan Freed, a disk jockey, comes to his aid along with other artists to convince the town that rock and roll is not what they really think it is.
