Joseph, Albert, and Jules are three prisoners whom have fled from the Devil Island to a small town on the coast of France. Their plan is to steal from a store in order to have money for clothes and travel. So they start working for the Ducotel family, pretending to fix their roof. They soon discover the family has big financial problems. Andre Tochard, the greedy and unfriendly owner of the organization and scrutinizes the family. After spending Christmas with the family, the three prisoners plan to help the nice family.
