In this romantic melodrama Lucas Marsh is a resident determined to become a top notch doctor. He is more about the status than being a good doctor. Lucas decides to marry lovely Kristina, only for her intelligence and her savings. He believes she will support him in everything he does. She is of great help to him, getting his name out there and starting his own practice in a small town. Lucas starts to fall for another woman, while Kristina is no longer happy in the marriage. She asks for a divorce, but then is found in need of her help when he has to operate on Dr. Runkleman, Marsh’s smart boss, who has suffered from a heart attack.
