This film centers on a dangerous voyage into hostile Indian territory by a group of misfit soldiers led by an inexperienced officer Miles Archer (Guy Madison) who are also lazy to rescue two white women taken hostage by the Cheyenne. One of the women is about to be married to War Chief Thunder Hawk and doesn’t want to be rescued, for she has become a renegade also. The other woman, Jennie McKeever (Vera Miles) dies as the cavalry comes to save the women.
