A group of claim jumpers are taking over mining operation and territories through blackmail, while killing everyone who knows about their plan. Luke Cromwell, a gambler manages to escape from the gang. As this is going on, Marshal Lightnin' Tyrone is also after the gang as he tries to recover from an assault and he encounters Opal Lacy, who may not be the best woman for him. Luke begins to go by the name of the Silver Kid and teams up with Marshal Tyrone to go after the gang.
