The princess of Mandorra's son, Carlos Delargo is convicted of murder and is expelled from ever returning to the kingdom. King Lorenzo, who look a lot like him sets him free. Delargo is ordered by Prime Minister Triano to become king in order to confuse the men who tried to kill Lorenzo, leaving him injured. During the meantime he manages to fall in love with the king's fiancée, Princess Teresa.
