Charles Starrett plays Government agent Steve Brent, alias the 'Durango Kid' who gets mixed up in a range war between cattlemen and sheep men in Timber Rock. Cattlemen have been killing their herd in order to maintain the prices high in which they blame the sheep men for the slaughtering. Jack Mahoney is the leader of the sheep men whose fiancé is Roberta . She calls of their engagement after Mahoney is accused for killing her rancher father Jim Woodstock even though he is innocent. Brent joins the cattlemen in order to find the real killer.
