The film is set in New Orleans during 1865, where Truscott, a sea captain goes to the infamous Scarlet Angel bar. There he encounters greedy Roxy McClanahan. Roxy ends up running away with all of Truscott’s money along with war widow Linda Caldwell. Everything is going well for Roxy, for she pretends to be Linda. Even better, Linda has right in-laws who are willing to give her a chance. Her luck changes when Truscott arrives looking for her.
