In this film, Gene Autry plays the mayor of the town of Quartz Creek around 1850.  With the help of Marshal Breezie Larrabee (Pat Buttram), he kicks crooked gambler Tod Rawlings (Harry Lauter) out of town. Rawlings tries to kidnap a caravan of brides despite Gene’s watchful eye.  Laurie (Gail Davis), one of the women from the caravan, falls for Steve Guilford (Russell Hayden), but turns against him when she learns of his association with Rawlings. Rawlings then attempts to take back the town and it is up to Gene to restore law and order.
