Barbara Beaurevel lives in New Orleans during the late 1800's with her aunt and cousin. She is in love with a research doctor named Mark Lucas who works at Tulane University. She plans to marry him, but that comes to an end after her family gets in the way. Things are being hidden from her and after she inherits money from her late grandmother’s side of the family, she plans to use the money to get back with Mark.
